The Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) held a members sundowner event at the KAM House rooftop in Nairobi. Acceler Global Logistics attended the event and participated in the highly charged discussion session which focused on issues ranging from strategies for market expansion, to Kenya’s foreign trade policy to secure markets, the status of trade agreements, and East African Communicaty market challenges. Among the list of key note speakers that graced the event included Maria Paulina (Ina) Mogollon, a Finance and Private Sector Development Specialist at the World Bank, Nairobi office.
Maria Paulina, Finance & Private Sector Development Specialist -World Bank begun the event by giving an insightful presention on the perfomance of Kenya as a strategic market for trade and investment wthin the region. The presentation was based on research conducted by the World Bank.
Charles Ongwae, Managing Director of the Kenya Beareu of Standards (KEBS) took the opportunity to sensitize participants on the role and mandate of KEBS, highlighting some industry challenges and notable achievements. The KEBS MD also gave a presentation on Quality Standards for Exports Competitiveness. The event was facilitated by the Kenya Asociation of Manufacturers Chairman, and moderated by Angela Angwenyi, Nation FM presenter. Other presenters included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (representing the Principle Secretary), and the Ministry of East African Community (representing the Cabinet Secretary).
